Hertfordshire Schools' Swimming Association (HSSA), founded on the 22nd January, 1949, is the body that overseas district school swimming and diving throughout the county. HSSA is affiliated to ESSA (English Schools' Swimming Association) through East Region and Swim England East Region..
Schools within the Hertfordshire county boundary are automatically affiliated to HSSA, either directly to HSSA or through the local district schools association.
Any swimmer from an affiliated school is deemed to be a member of the Herts School Swimming Club (HSSC) and is permitted to enter galas run by the HSSC.
HSSC runs school swimming galas and diving championships for Primary and Secondary school children with both individual and team events. Details can be found under the Events menu.
Each district of Hertfordshire schools is responsible for the selection of a team to participate in the HSSC team events.
The HSSA is non-profit organisation and is run on a volunteer basis by the committee. The HSSC organises and runs the galas which the HSSA have scheduled.

Hertfordshire Schools’ Swimming Association (HSSA) Privacy Policy
On the 25th May, 2018 the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) comes into force. This regulation governs the privacy (data protection) and the personal information we may obtain and hold. The Hertfordshire Schools’ Swimming Association (HSSA) collects, stores, and processes certain information for the sole purpose of running school swimming galas on behalf of the English Schools’ Swimming Association. For details of the galas which we (HSSA) run, please see Events or Results which contains a list of the galas.
The information which we collect, store and process may be shared with ESSA and with the individual Herts district representatives which make up the Herts Schools Swimming, however this information provided is used by ESSA and the Herts Districts in relation only to running or the participation in ESSA or HSSA galas. HSSA and districts do not share this information with any other organisations.
