ESSA swimming are holding the 73rd ESSA INTER-DIVISIONAL SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS on 9th (Sat) & 10th (Sun) March 2024 at the Alan Higgs Pool, Coventry. It is a Swim England Level 1 Licensed Meet.
Age Groups: - Juniors, Yrs 7 & 8 (b. 01/09/2010 - 31/08/2012) - Inters, Yrs 9 & 10 (b. 01/09/2008 - 31/08/2010) - Seniors, Yrs 11, 12 & 13 (b 01/09/2005 - 31/08/2008) Events are as follows (Boys and Girls) and all Long Course: - 200m & 400m INDIVIDUAL MEDLEY - 50m, 100m and 200m BACKSTROKE - 50m, 100m and 200m BREASTSTROKE - 50m, 100m and 200m BUTTERFLY - 50m, 100m, 200m and 400m FREESTYLE If you would like to be considered for this event please click here for the entry consideration form (it is Word .docx). 2024 HSSA Secondary Schools’ Inter District Gala. Venue; Woodside, Watford - Friday 22nd March, 2024
For this gala, the swimmers from schools are selected to represent their district. Please see Herts School Districts if you need to see which district you are in. Rules for 2024 have changed. They include the following: 1. There Juniors will be a combined Year 7 & 8 team and events for this year (as opposed to last year 2023 where they were split). This is reverting back to pre-covid system. 2. In the Junior (year 7 and 8's) and Intermediate (Year 9 & 10's) categories, one swimmer (and one swimmer only) is able to swim a stroke or IM event plus 2 relays. No change to the rules for Seniors. 2023 HSSA Secondary Schools’ Inter District Gala. Venue; Woodside, Watford - Friday 24th March, 2023
For this gala, the swimmers from schools are selected to represent their district. Please see Herts School Districts if you need to see which district you are in. Rules for 2023 have changed. They include the following: 1. There will separate Year 7 & 8 teams, swimmers, and events for this year. The results of these years will be combined into the usual Juniors category. 2. In the Junior (including both year 7 and 8's) and Intermediate categories, one swimmer (and one swimmer only) is able to swim a stroke or IM event plus 2 relays. (Previously a swimmer who did a stroke event was only able to swim in 1 relay). No change to the rules for Seniors. Click here for the rules details. - Oen to all swimmers from 9 years old (at date of gala), including para swimmers. - Entry deadline - entries will be accepted up to 5th June – entries accepted as ‘first-come-first-served’ - Licensed by Swim England at Level 3 (3SExxxxx tbc) – Long Course - K2 Leisure Centre, Crawley, RH11 9BQ - Age Groups: 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, 15 and over. Ages are calculated as at 5th July 2020 - Events: 50m, 100m and 200m all strokes plus 100m IM, 200m IM, 400m Freestyle & IM All events will be heat declared winners. 2015/16 ESSA Inter-Divisional Championships. Venue: Leeds
Due to changes to the ASA calendar, the Inter-Divisional championships are being moved from June to October. This is why there is two Inter-Divisional Championships in 2015. Any swimmers attending schools within East Division (including Hertfordshire) can submit an entry to be considered to represent East Division at this gala. Events are combination of 100m and 200m for the individual events (+400m IM & Free, and long distance 800m/1500m) and 4x100m for relays. There is 3 age categories: Juniors Yrs 7&8, Intermediate Yrs 9&10, and Seniors Yrs 11,12, &13. Ages are for the 2015/16 school year. These apply to all events except the long distance, which are Open. This is an ASA level 1 Long Course meet. Awards include: Individuals and members of team placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd will receive a commemorative medal, and all members of the team will receive a commemorative certificate. Challenge trophies are awarded for first place in each of the categories, overall first, second, and third place, and also a "most improved" division trophy. For any further details see the ESSA website. If you are selected for the team there will be a small charge to parents to help fund team shirts, hats, travel, and food. All members of the team stay on Saturday night at the hotel allocated by ESSA. Deadline for entries is 17th July.
