Unfortunately, we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel this gala.
There are several reasons why we have made this decision most of which are Covid related. Entry numbers are too low to hold a meaningful competition; we do not have a sufficient number of officials to run the gala; and the East region of British Swimming have mandated that their regional gala will not be admitting spectators and some leisure centres are following suit (though we have not heard if Watford Woodside plans to do so).
All those who have entered will receive a a refund of their entry fees, and should have received an e-mail in this regard.
It is disappointing to have to make this decision prior to the entry deadline closing, however this does mean those swimmers who have entered will now have time to enter other galas which may be going on that weekend.
I know how disappointing this is with so few opportunities for the children to compete and hope that by 2022 we will be back to normal.
